Barbara McDougald, born July 13th, is the epitome of a worshipper. From an early age she has always loved singing and bringing glory unto the LORD. She understands her purpose and what she was put here for. As a vocalist, actress, and model, she has always exuded strength, courage, intelligence, grace, compassion, and poise.
Over the years these qualities have won her the admiration of many. In her earlier years, Barbara performed in the numerous plays including The Sound of Music and Showboat. For over thirty years, her singing career has taken her across the United States and throughout Europe singing as a lead vocalist with the award winning Voices of Hope and the Gulf Coast Community Choir. Her gift has opened doors for her to sing at venues at the Apollo, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center and on the nationally televised Bobby Jones Gospel Show.
In addition, she was a co-host on radio station 1440 AM and a TV personality on the local show “the Gospel Train”. Minister Barbara has been under the successful tutelage of Gospel Recording Artist Valerie Boyd and has performed as a backup singer for her.
In June 2012, Barbara wrote, produced and released her first CD named “The Fragrance of Worship”. Each song filled with love and adoration was written and arranged by Minister Barbara herself.
Minister Barbara is currently a member of Family Life Worship Cathedral in Elmont, New York under the leadership of Bishop Christopher T. Cox II and Executive Pastor Zulima Cox.
Her passion is to serve God and to be found pleasing to Him. Dedicated to God, family, and friends she is grateful for all that she has been entrusted with.
